About This Opportunity The Inspector position is responsible for in-process inspection, lot inspection and creating and compiling quality reports for the Sheetmetal division.

Responsibilities

Prioritize which inspections to perform based on workload and job priorities.

Inspect product at receiving and incoming inspection from suppliers, specifically plating and custom-made parts using applicable measuring tools and test equipment.

Inspect product In-Process (1st Piece) supplied by the operator. Verify the product against the print, work order (notes) and other pertinent documentation using measuring tools and test equipment.

Advise the operator of deviations found upon inspection.

Perform “Lot” inspection on product ready to move to the next operation, checking the product against the print, work order (notes) and other pertinent documentation.

Create and compile quality records as defined by the Quality Management System and/or by Customer specific requirements.

Record inspection results in Kebrite Software, linked to Visual Manufacturing.

Undertake additional responsibilities or activities as required by the Quality Manager Sheetmetal.

Assist the Director of Quality in maintaining ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 9001:2008 certifications.

Requirements

1 year of manufacturing fabrication or inspection experience minimum.

Measuring tools: Caliper, Micrometer, etc.

A good understanding of mathematics.

Read and interpret blueprints.

Familiar with quality management systems and calibration.

General inspection knowledge, methodology, metrology, plating and painting.

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and able to manipulate documents using Adobe Acrobat or Foxit.

Read, write and communicate in English.

Skills

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in inspections

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities

Effective verbal and written communication

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus

Experience working with ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 quality standards

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes for sheet metal fabrication
