Job Summary
This Director, Business Operations on the Insurance team is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate execution of various team outputs, including borrower insurance collection, compliance, invoice and hazard claim processing, escrow analysis, and reporting. It involves applying expert judgment in interpreting insurance requirements and evaluating submissions from insurance agents and brokers. The role includes managing insurance premium payments for escrowed loans, updating internal policies to maintain best practices, and acting as the point of contact for audit inquiries related to process integrity and quality assurance. Additionally, the position requires leading projects, mentoring new team members, collaborating with departments to deliver seamless client service, and overseeing the integration of Insurance Compliance components within the company's servicing system.
Responsibilities
Ensure the timely and accurate execution of team outputs, including borrower insurance collection and compliance, invoice and hazard claim review and processing, off-cycle escrow analysis, and reporting functions. Apply expert judgment in interpreting insurance requirements from commercial real estate investment agreements and evaluate submissions from insurance agents and brokers. Oversee the payment of insurance premiums for escrowed loans, making sure invoices are obtained and payments initiated from the borrower’s escrow account or designated client account before deadlines. Master, evaluate, and update internal policies and procedures for the Insurance Compliance Team to uphold best practices. Serve as the point of contact for internal and external audit inquiries, facilitating record provision and addressing questions about process integrity and quality assurance. Lead specific projects and mentor new team members through training and onboarding processes. Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless service delivery to clients. Oversee additional team responsibilities and ensure that Insurance Compliance elements within the company’s servicing system are accurate and effectively integrated with Trimont’s borrower and client-facing platforms.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or a closely related field required. 7+ years of experience in a relevant role. Proficiency in McCracken’s Strategy Loan Servicing System. Thorough knowledge of commercial real estate loan documentation and insurance-related terminology. Robust understanding of standard commercial loan servicing practices. Knowledge of securitized assets, adherence to Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC) standards, and/or servicing for Government-Sponsored Enterprises (GSE). Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and adhere to deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Organizational and administrative skills. Skilled in managing sensitive information while upholding privacy. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
