About the role

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

at Chartmetric is a strategic and operational leadership role responsible for shaping the technical roadmap and mentoring a 30+ person engineering team across San Mateo, New York, and Korea. This is a hands-on leadership position focused on solving our most complex challenges and driving technical excellence. What you’ll do

Technical Leadership & Strategy Lead and mentor a distributed engineering team of 30+ developers across three locations Define and execute technical strategy aligned with business objectives Drive architectural decisions for scalable, high-performance systems Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous learning Spearhead AWS and multi-cloud cost optimization initiatives as we scale Implement efficient resource management and monitoring strategies Balance performance requirements with cost-effective infrastructure solutions Drive adoption of cloud-native best practices and automation Hands-On Development & Problem Solving Roll up your sleeves to tackle the most challenging technical problems Contribute to backend (Node.js, PostgreSQL/Aurora, Snowflake, Elasticsearch, ClickHouse) and frontend (React, React Native) development Establish coding standards and review processes Lead by example in technical decision-making and implementation Developer Experience & Productivity Design and implement tools and processes that enhance developer productivity Improve software quality through better testing, deployment, and monitoring practices Streamline development workflows and reduce friction in the engineering process Champion best practices in software development lifecycle management What we’re looking for

Required Qualifications 6+ years of engineering management experience Proven track record at big tech companies (Google, Meta, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, etc.) Computer Science degree or equivalent technical background Deep expertise in modern web technologies, cloud infrastructure, and database systems Experience with our tech stack: Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, AWS services Highly Preferred Startup experience or entrepreneurial background Experience scaling engineering teams and systems through rapid growth phases Background in data analytics, music technology, or similar domains Track record of successful cloud cost optimization at scale Experience managing distributed/remote engineering teams Leadership Qualities Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution Strong mentoring and coaching abilities Collaborative leadership style that builds trust and drives results What we offer
