Overview

Associate, Energy, Materials and Power Coverage role at HSBC. This position sits in the US based Global Corporates sector coverage team, delivering a comprehensive suite of corporate and investment banking solutions for Oil & Gas and Power clients. HSBC aims to grow banking revenues, strengthen client relationships, and support clients in achieving their objectives. Responsibilities

Coordinate origination and execution for clients in the sector across the spectrum of solutions with a primary focus in: Credit and Lending, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, and Debt & Equity Capital Markets; Transaction Banking (Global Liquidity & Cash Management, Global Trade & Receivables Finance); Global Markets (Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Commodities); and Global Asset Management to grow banking revenues and improve relationship returns Build the Global Corporates franchise value and market reputation Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment to ensure credit quality and requisite returns Identify event-driven opportunities, bringing sector, country, and product expertise as appropriate Grow HSBC’s share of client wallet by coordinating with product specialists to align capabilities with client and sector requirements Monitor news, research, regulatory updates, and industry trends to understand the sector and identify opportunities for the client portfolio Liaise with relationship teams across global sites to ensure complete sector coverage from local to global perspectives Assess credit exposures through vigorous reviews, active communications with global team members, and updates to market intelligence Work with credit management and risk units to ensure high-quality credit papers tailored to the client and transaction Be aware of and actively manage Financial Crime Risk and Operational Risk scenarios Ensure compliance with internal and external rules and regulations Uphold HSBC values and demonstrate integrity; be a strong team player Qualifications

Strong willingness to learn, positive attitude, and drive to succeed Passion for building trusted relationships Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong understanding of corporate finance and financial analysis Strong financial modeling proficiency Ability to review industry, competitors, clients, and products to provide high-quality analysis of opportunities and risk Prior banking, consulting or sector experience required Strong Windows skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook FINRA Series 63, 79, and 7 licenses required (a contingency period to obtain licensing may be provided at manager’s discretion) Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $125,000.00 – $150,000.00.
