RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: No relocation assistance available CLEARANCE TYPE: Secret TRAVEL: Yes, 50% of the Time Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Supplier Quality Engineer (T4) to join our Supplier Performance Management (SPM) team based in Annapolis, MD. This position will report directly to the Manage Supplier Quality, Naval & Oceanic Systems (N&OS) business unit, and the qualified candidate will support all programs at the site. Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for supplier quality risk management - implementing proactive supplier performance management strategy. Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems. Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing supplier manufacturing processes and procedures. Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action (RCCA) for supplier quality issues. Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list. Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and requirement changes. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks. Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases. Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification, and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs. Reviews program contracts and interfaces with Program Quality Engineering to assure proper requirements flow down to suppliers Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs. Reports on supplier performance to site stakeholders through recurring Material Corrective Action Board (MATCAB) meetings Drives affordability through monitoring of budget and spend. Travels to suppliers as-required to achieve positive outcomes Fosters a collaborative culture that sustains momentum around engagement, problem solving, and continuous improvement. Serves as a strong voice for 'Quality' and a role model for NG Values Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in an STEM or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant work experience in disciplines such as quality, supply chain, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or materials engineering OR Masters Degree in a STEM or related discipline with 6+ years of relevant work experience in disciplines such as quality, supply chain, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or materials engineering Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance. US Citizenship Required. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering Master's Degree in an engineering field Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Quality Auditor (CQA) Experience facilitating Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities Experience auditing manufacturing processes and/or quality management systems Defense industry experience, including interfacing with suppliers Experience in a quality, supplier quality, or manufacturing role SAP Business System experience Solid written and verbal technical communication skills Currently active DoD SECRET clearance, or higher Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $119,200.00 - $178,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
