Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with long-term business objectives, anticipating market shifts, supply risks, and industry disruption
Lead major initiatives that optimize procurement value delivery, improve agility, and support enterprise competitiveness
Build and manage strategic supplier frameworks that foster transparency, innovation, and long-term value
Cultivate supplier partnerships that align with sustainability, regulatory, and commercial goals across multiple spend categories
Partner with Pricing Excellence and IT to champion digital tools, market intelligence platforms, and predictive analytics to enhance sourcing decisions and performance
Translate complex market data into actionable insights for category strategies and supplier negotiations
Develop financial models and procurement strategies that optimize cost, mitigate supply risks, and ensure business continuity
Integrate procurement risk management into the broader enterprise risk framework, ensuring proactive resilience planning
Lead complex negotiations with strategic suppliers, securing favorable commercial outcomes while fostering mutual partnership
Serve as a key point of contact for senior leadership, influencing sourcing decisions and ensuring stakeholder alignment
Drive the implementation of procurement best practices, project management frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives
Manage cross-functional initiatives to improve procurement effectiveness and operational delivery
Inspire and mentor a team of sourcing professionals, promoting accountability, innovation, and excellence
Position procurement as a strategic driver of product quality, cost competitiveness, and business impact
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a Business-related field
Minimum of 10 years of progressive procurement or sourcing leadership experience
Direct experience purchasing raw materials in the chemical industry
Deep expertise in raw materials procurement with a strong understanding of global pricing and market dynamics
Proven ability to manage strategic supplier relationships and negotiate high-value, long-term contracts
Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills in a global environment
Strong financial and analytical skills with a track record of delivering measurable results
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement abilities
Solid understanding of cost-saving strategies and value creation in procurement
