This role can be based in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Austin, Boston, New York or Washington, D.C. Responsibilities
Research new laws and regulations and draft concise summaries as appropriate. Monitor global legislative and regulatory developments and review and systematically update the firm’s AI database with any changes in the laws that affect AI use, including relevant guidance. Support regulatory intelligence efforts by identifying and assessing AI policy and legislative updates. Monitor and flag high-impact or nuanced legal developments with potential regulatory or reputational implications. Assist attorneys in synthesizing compliance, regulatory risk, and enforcement updates by delivering executive-ready summaries on strategic developments for client senior leadership. Provide updates to governance frameworks and responsibilities to address AI regulatory and compliance requirements. Coordinate with the AI Industry Group and other internal teams focused on AI and Privacy client-facing initiatives. Engage with local counsel, as appropriate, to obtain guidance on relevant legal and regulatory developments. Manage communications with local counsel to ensure timely, accurate, and up-to-date review of information, and review and approve invoices. Track and monitor progress of projects and provide regular status reports. Manage internal systems and processes to ensure resources are properly updated, and, as necessary, adapted and implemented. Develop compelling written materials that showcase the firm’s strengths and support business growth and new opportunities. Upload and edit content in Salesforce to ensure accurate and up-to-date web content. Create publishable work that is error free. About You
B.A. required, J.D. a plus. Previous experience analyzing AI-related laws and regulations. Strong interest in and knowledge of trends in the AI space. Exceptional writing skills and ability to provide writing samples. Ability to prepare accurate work product, on time and in a cost-effective manner. Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize large amounts of data as well as laws and regulations. Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects, and to work effectively under pressure and to prioritize. Skilled at collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive aligned outcomes.
