The Sr. Staff Software Engineer for Thermal Camera is responsible for development of software for thermal imaging camera systems for ADAS and automotive applications. Lead various aspects of software development relevant for Thermal Camera development such as GUI interface for development purposes, thermal sensor calibration software, image quality enhancement software/algorithms, software traceability in server, and support testers used in the production process. Responsibilities
Review and analyze product requirements (including customer and supplier requirements) and decompose the requirements to the lowest component level engineering. Develop C++ engineering applications: Design and development of software used in the testing and validation of infrared cameras. Applications to be written in Visual C++ using MFC and/or C# and run in Windows 11 and Ubuntu environments. Expand image analysis capabilities of the existing application. Develop automated tests to exercise specific functions and properties of the thermal camera. Write applications code using object-oriented concepts and data structures. Revision control/ software configuration management in TFS (Team Foundation Server). Generate new or maintain existing installer packages for deployment of all software applications. Coordinate with users the deployment of new software releases. Write and deliver test plans to validate new software releases. Conduct problem solving with identified issues in various testing setups and respective products. Conduct risk analysis such as DFMEA/DRBFM for complex camera systems. Provide technical interface and input to manufacturing, quality, purchasing, customer, and suppliers to achieve successful completion of component, product and system design objectives within time and cost constraints. Develop test methods, engineering reports, fixture/prototype designs and test execution support for product development. Education/Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field 5+ years of Visual C++/C#, Object Oriented design (OOD)/development experience Experience with Visual Studio, multi-threading, MFC, Win32 API, synchronization, blocking mechanisms, and Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) Hands-on working expertise with Windows, IDE, OO Frameworks Solid understanding of OOP principles and techniques, distributed computing architectures, error management, transactions and techniques Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet schedules and deadlines Strong team player with fast learning capability, strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask Experience
10+ years experience with complex thermal imaging camera systems. Highly knowledgeable in C/C++. Automotive industry design techniques such as FMEA, DFM, and DFSS. HW/SW Interfaces (HSIS) Windows applications and familiarity with embedded applications Software Configuration Management Project scheduling and resource allocation Design of Experiments Strong technical skills in designing code, testing, and debugging Experience with PFMEA, DFMEA, Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262 is a plus. Salary range: $131,000 - $196,000. Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market data.
