Firmware Engineer - Camera • Cupertino, California, United States • Hardware Apple's Camera Firmware team is looking for a firmware engineer to drive groundbreaking technologies for Apple products. You will work on core camera/ISP/Machine learning technologies, including Apple-crafted image signal processing pipeline and HW components, with opportunities to define how Apple develops, tests and manufactures its products. The team fosters innovation, rapid iteration, and collaboration with a high degree of autonomy. Responsibilities

Develop low level device drivers for a sophisticated image processing pipeline in embedded systems for the latest SoC blocks and chipsets in Apple. Collaborate with the algorithm team to design and develop algorithms to control CMOS image sensors, the ISP pipeline, and the machine learning pipeline. Design and implement camera features in embedded systems for Apple products; work with other teams to define features and communication protocols and clearly detail requirements with implementation specifications. Optimize image processing algorithms to improve system performance. Work on hardware validation and provide firmware support to factory testing; implement features to support hardware testing and diagnosis. Minimum Qualifications

BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience A real passion for embedded software development Proficiency in C/C++ and development of multi-thread software within embedded RTOS systems Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with camera pipeline and hardware components Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and the base pay will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees may participate in discretionary employee stock programs, stock purchase plans, and a range of benefits including medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, product discounts and services, and reimbursements for education-related expenses.
