The Channel's founding Technical Board Members include former government leaders and IT executives passionate about bringing best-of-breed technology to the government. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Systems Modeling Architect (Engineer, Systems IV-ESY4) to join our team. Responsibilities

Lead and drive the transition of traditional systems engineering processes into a fully integrated digital engineering environment, applying advanced Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to modernize program execution. Coordinate and oversee the development of complex engineering systems and capabilities, with a focus on functional and system-level requirements, architecture design, and stakeholder alignment. Develop and maintain MBSE artifacts to support the full lifecycle development of Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) applications, including SysML/UML-based models for CONOPS, requirements, architectural views, and simulation scenarios. Perform detailed analysis and modeling activities such as use case development, functional decomposition, and requirement generation to ensure traceability from concept through deployment. Utilize MBSE toolchains such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, or equivalent platforms to construct, manage, and communicate comprehensive system models. Support the development of complete architecture views including functional, physical, power, safety, cybersecurity, and interface perspectives to enable end-to-end system understanding and integration. Facilitate the adoption and institutionalization of MBSE across the program by employing Agile, Lean, SAFe, and CMMI methodologies and guiding multidisciplinary teams through process change and tool implementation. Act as a change leader, promoting communication and engagement strategies to increase stakeholder buy-in and MBSE competency across engineering teams and program offices. Provide support for requirements management activities using IBM Rational DOORS and DOORS Next Generation, ensuring accurate linkage between requirements and model elements. Apply architectural certification frameworks (DoDAF, TOGAF) or JCIDS processes to ensure models and system artifacts meet all technical, operational, and acquisition standards. Mentor and guide junior engineers, modelers, and analysts in the application of MBSE principles and digital engineering practices, contributing to workforce development and capability growth. Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or four years of demonstrated knowledge relevant to the SOW. In addition, fifteen years of experience with MBSE and leading a team in moving processes into the digital engineering environment. The Principal Systems Modeling Architect experience shall include: Coordinating development activities associated with engineering systems, capabilities, and activities, including demonstrated experience in functional and system-level requirements. Strong communication and change management skills to accelerate MBSE adoption across the program. Demonstrated experience in employing Agile, Lean, SAFe and Capablity Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) methodologies in an engineering environment. Developing and delivering the full range of MBSE artifacts needed to support development of IPMS applications, including SysML/UML models of CONOPS, requirements, architecture models, and simulation cases. Performing analyses to create and manage requirements and generate specifications, including CONOPS and timelines, functional decomposition and use case analysis. Experience with MBSE toolchains, including UML/SysML modeling tools like Cameo, MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody or equivalent. Supporting the creation of system and subsystem architecture views (functional, physical, power, safety, cybersecurity, etc.). Experience in DOORS and DOORS Next. Certification in DoDAF, TOGAF, and/or 6 Sigma or extensive experience in JCIDS. Top Secret Clearance required. Position is contingent upon award. Work Location: Virginia, USA.
