Job Description
A Brighter Day Behavioral Health Center is an Outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program offering drug & alcohol education as well as individual, group, and intensive outpatient treatment to individuals who are recommended to receive these services in efforts of promoting sustained recovery. A Brighter Day Behavioral Health Centers Administrative Assistant assists the Clinical Director with administrative operational tasks to promote a high standard of care and foster a positive patient experience.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The responsibilities listed below are intended to provide insight into theProgram Assistantsgeneral scope of practice. This is not an exhaustive list of job duties performed by employees functioning within this role.
Serve as the initial contact within the agency, greeting patients, families, stakeholders, and other visitors in a friendly, courteous, professional manner
Create a safe environment consistent with A Brighter Day Behavioral Health Centers trauma-focused program model
Maintain a welcoming, clean, and presentable lobby and entryway area
Receive, direct, and resolve all incoming calls appropriately and efficiently
Schedule patient appointments
Develop and maintain accurate patient electronic health records (EHR)
Schedule reminder calls/texts/emails for all appointments in patients EHR
Verify each patients identity and demographic information at the time appointments
Verify patient insurance information to ensure proper preparation of the medical record and claims submission prior to the time of appointment
Conduct monthly Client & Employee Satisfaction Surveys
Develop monthly newsletter
Participate in all team/leadership/executive meetings, recording and distributing minutes
Provides support to clinical staff as needed
Maintains a regulatory/compliance environment by following organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance to state, local, and federal standards and regulations
Respect the integrity and confidentiality of patients and program staff
Education and Experience
High School Diploma with work experience; Associates Degree preferred
Experience in mental health/addictions field highly preferred
Must be proficient in multitasking

Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Work Hours
- 10AM - 6PM
