Save Job

The Highmark Caring Place is a center for grieving children and families who have experienced the death of a loved one. Peer support groups are offered at no cost, without the requirement of insurance. Caring Place volunteers take on several different roles. The majority spend their time interacting with the families on group nights at the Caring Place while other volunteers work to sew together the quilts or take care of special projects. Our volunteer quilters and volunteers who sew take on the special job of sewing the Caring Place quilts, which are made up of the squares that the families lovingly and beautifully decorate in memory of their loved ones. We are always looking for more volunteers who have experience quilting or sewing. Our group of quilters typically come together 2-3 times per year to make the memory quilts in honor of the loved ones that have died.
