1st Shift Position located in Sterling Heights, MI! This will be a contract to hire role, candidates must have experience and be ready to interview as soon as possible.
General Statement of Duties:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for Hands-On inspecting, maintaining and repairing plating lines. mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in a plating facility to ensure optimal operating results. All while remaining in compliance with local, state and federal regulations
Summary of General Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary
· Completes emergency, preventive and predictive maintenance tasks
· Troubleshoots mechanical breakdown situations to eliminate future occurrences
· Performs a wide range of operations connected with maintenance, repair and installation of equipment and plating lines (water, gas, air, etc.)
· Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild/overhaul and troubleshoot plating line and machine components, such as gearboxes, filters and agitation mechanisms, bushings, sleeves, etc. Service and maintain miscellaneous material handling equipment.
· Fabricate fixtures and racks (will require welding experience).
· Complete inspections of production areas, offices and laboratories with Maintenance Manager
· Perform structural work to include carpentry, welding, pipe fitting, sheet metal work, plumbing, and electrical incidental to work assignments.
· Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
· Maintains work area, shop floor and equipment in a neat, clean and orderly condition
· Completes records, forms and data entry as required by job
· Strives to eliminate any unscheduled equipment downtime
· Maintains consumables and replacement part inventory
· Moving and installing of equipment
· Responsible for accuracy of preventative and predictive maintenance program
· Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers and small hand tools
·
Perform other maintenance duties as requested
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
· High School Diploma/GED, Trade School/Vocational
· Minimum 5 years of experience in facility maintenance
· Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance at a metal finishing facility.
· Certifications are welcome or any job-related certifications in Plumbing, Electricity or HVAC.
