Blood Drive Volunteer
- As the face of Vitalant Blood Drives and Donation Centers, our Blood Drive Volunteers ensure that our amazing blood donors have an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive until they leave. Volunteers are needed at our donation Centers and on mobile blood drives. Responsibilities include: ·Welcome and check-in donors. ·Explain the donation process as necessary and answer any problems donors may have. ·Ensure each donor reads pre-donation materials. ·Offer promotional items when available. ·Encourage donors to donate the best product for their blood type for maximum impact. ·Manage donor flow. ·Provide excellent customer service. ·Set up and maintain cleanliness in Reception and Refreshment/Hospitality areas. ·Ensure the Refreshment/Hospitality area is clean and restocked, and donors are re-hydrated after the donation procedure. ·Check if the donor was provided post-donation information before leaving the drive. ·Report possible adverse post-donation physical reactions to staff. Qualifications/Requirements: ·Must be at least 16 years old. ·Must pass a Criminal Background Check with SSN if eighteen or older. ·Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service care. ·Always demonstrate a professional demeanor. ·Comfortable working with people from diverse communities and backgrounds. ·Reliable transportation. ·Commit to 50 hours per calendar year. Approximately four hours per month.
