About the Organization
Liberty Dogs is a premier service dog training program whose goal is to empower Veterans with disabilities to lead more independent and fulfilling lives - enhancing their well-being through the unconditional support that Liberty Service Dogs provides. Located on a 27-acre campus, it includes a training facility, dog housing, an administrative and multipurpose building, and accommodations for Veterans staying on campus to train with their Liberty Service Dogs.
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Marketing Communications Manager to lead our efforts in sharing our mission and impact with a wider audience. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller, a strategic thinker, and a community-builder. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies to increase brand awareness and foster strong community relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications: Collaborate with VP, Marketing and Communications to develop and implement an annual communications plan that aligns with organizational goals including program promotion and brand building.
Content Creation:
- Oversee the creation of compelling content for various channels, including our website, social media, email newsletters, and print materials.
- Manage and maintain an editorial calendar to ensure a consistent and engaging stream of content.
- Write and edit press releases, articles, and other materials to secure media coverage.
Digital Marketing:
- Manage social media contractor to grow our social media presence across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to engage donors, volunteers, and supporters.
- Monitor and analyze website and social media analytics to optimize performance and report on key metrics.
Brand Management:
Ensure all communications are consistent with the organization's brand identity, mission, and values.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the creative and program teams to support campaigns and to capture and share impact stories.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing or communications, preferably within a non-profit environment.
- Proven experience in content creation, social media management, and email marketing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling.
- Experience with community outreach and public relations.
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., social media management tools, email marketing software like Mailchimp or Constant Contact, website CMS).
- A passion for the mission of Liberty Dogs and a deep appreciation for the veteran community.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team.
