- Develop job descriptions and post openings in collaboration with hiring managers.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates; manage assessments and background checks.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth transition.
- Support performance management, training, and career development initiatives.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for HR questions and employee concerns.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and assist with employee investigations.
- Promote and enforce HR policies, ensuring consistency across the organization.
- Develop employee engagement initiatives and analyze feedback for improvement.
- Guide managers through disciplinary processes, terminations, and exit interviews.
- Administer employee benefits programs, manage enrollments, and respond to inquiries.
- Coordinate open enrollment and benefits communications.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local employment laws, and Title 5/Title 22 regulations.
- Maintain accurate HR records and generate reports as needed.
- Assist with HRIS management and policy development.
- Lead and participate in HR projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with departments to support organizational goals.
- Continuously improve HR processes and stay informed on HR trends, nonprofit best practices, and legal updates.
- Proven experience in HR generalist roles, preferably in nonprofits or educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, Title 5/Title 22 compliance, and HRIS systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification required. Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
