Director- Human Resources role at Adtalem Global Education.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a variety of HR strategies that are practical, measurable, and tightly linked to the organizational goals.
  • Serves as a partner to senior institutional/business leadership, identifying and executing organizational effectiveness interventions (e.g., performance management, organization design, learning initiatives, teambuilding, 360 assessments, executive coaching) to maximize performance within the institution.
  • Develops and executes plans to meet workforce needs, including quantity and mix of skills.
  • Utilizes HR metrics to assess the state of the workforce and the effectiveness of management practices; develops recommendations to address emerging issues.
  • Evaluates engagement survey results, consults with the management team and recommends strategies for addressing vulnerable populations.
  • Partners with Adtalem Global Education Centers of Excellence (talent management, talent acquisition, colleague relations and total rewards) to ensure requirements are reflected in program design; executes major enterprise processes on behalf of the business in partnership with COEs.
  • Drives the semi-annual performance management and total compensation process; ensures calibration of results with the institution’s performance.
  • Invests in the development and retention of high-performing, high-potential colleagues; meets with key talent, develops plans, and keeps retention on the executive leadership agenda.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to the institution’s senior leadership on all HR-related matters.
  • Manages the performance and development of the institution’s HR Business Partners (if applicable).
  • Completes other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of broad-based HR experience across multiple HR functions.
  • Preferred experience in consulting, HR operations and supporting sales organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, matrix organization.
  • Results-oriented with effective use of metrics to evaluate programs and drive improvement.
  • Strong influencing skills to build commitment and persuade action.
  • Ability to build trust and effective working relationships across a broad range of people and organizations.
  • Strong facilitation and training skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop win/win solutions.
  • Mastery of employment law through professional certification (e.g., SPHR) or on-the-job experience/training.
  • Track record of addressing difficult HR issues with specific action plans.

Additional Information

In support of pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is between $100,171.61 and $181,034.70. Actual pay will be adjusted based on factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility. Our Talent Acquisition Team can answer questions about salary requirements. The position qualifies for benefits listed below and includes eligibility for an annual incentive program, subject to program rules and performance.
