Summary:

Manages and guides the overall functions of human resources activities within the company, including those duties related to employee relations, employee retention, recruitment, employee analysis, and benefits administration. Oversees the Clerical staff of the Management Office.

Relationships:

  1. Reports directly to the General Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for guiding, directing, and managing the overall provisions of Human Resource (HR) services, policies, and programs for the entire company.

Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

Prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures

manuals.

Process various analysis reports for the General Manager and Controller as requested.

Originates and leads HR practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the development of a superior staff.
Coordinates and directs supervisors on disciplinary actions necessary for staff.

Administers company-wide benefits program, including answering questions regarding coverage and eligibility and coordinating and conducting annual open enrollment meetings.

Monitors and coordinates the evaluation and review process for supervisors.

Assists with recruitment efforts for all departments, including background, motor vehicle reports, and pre-employment drug testing for all prospective staff.

Conduct new employee orientation and benefit registration.

Handles employee relations counseling.

Participates in staff meetings and conducts HR training updates.

Maintains employee records.

Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

Keeps General Manager and Controller advised of potential legal employment issues.

Prepares quarterly staffing reports for Controller to be used at Board Meetings.

Maintains and updates company-wide job descriptions.

Plans employee recognition events.

Processes Salary payroll and approves regular payroll.

Compiles year-end bonus spreadsheet for approval and implementation

Sets up and oversees twice-yearly uniform ordering for employees.

Handles all employee onboarding and terminations.

Assists with audits.

Assists the board with the GM review process.

Attends monthly Personnel Policy Committee meetings.

Files yearly EEO-1 for the company and any other applicable filings.

Tracks all FMLA, Intermittent FMLA, and WC cases.

Acts as the ADP administrator and 401K administrator.

Assists with Insurance Claims for the association.

Responds to Unemployment claims.

Works with legal counsel on employee-related issues.

Sets up temporary staffing as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management.

Minimum five years of experience in Human Resources.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration and human resources procedures.

Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations, both federal and state.

Compliance-oriented with emphasis in reporting, employee documentation, benefits administration and employee training.

Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react resourcefully under varying conditions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the all levels of staff.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other internet-based systems.

Maintains a high level of confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift a minimum of 45 lbs.

2. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.

3. Must have normal sight and hearing. Corrective lenses and hearing aids are acceptable.

Other Requirements:

1. Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license.

2. Must have valid automobile insurance.

3. Must have a good driving record.
