Black River Health is a not-for-profit, independent healthcare organization proudly serving rural Wisconsin. We operate Black River Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, along with two multispecialty rural health clinics: Krohn Clinic and Black River Healthcare Clinic.

Our 400+ employees deliver comprehensive services including:

What You’ll Do
  • Provide strategic leadership for all HR functions, aligning people initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Lead recruitment, talent development, and workforce planning to attract and retain top healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and recognition programs to ensure equity, competitiveness, and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare and labor regulations while fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
  • Partner with executive leadership as a trusted advisor, providing data-driven insights and shaping the future of our workforce.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree in HR Management or related discipline (preferred)
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) strongly desired
  • 5+ years of progressive HR management experience, ideally in healthcare
  • A leader who thrives in building relationships, developing people, and driving cultural and organizational growth
