Job Description
The IT Security Specialist is a technical position within the organization. This position will be responsible for planning and implementing security-related projects with the desired goal of reducing cyber threats for clients. This includes researching the current landscape of cyber threats to implement proper training that covers current attack vectors. Other responsibilities may include Tier 3 escalation point for service requests if the resolution requires advanced remediation and troubleshooting. Customer satisfaction is the primary objective of the Security Specialist accomplished through the deployment and adherence to corporate best practices
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide advance level troubleshooting and escalation support for services requests
· Participate in pre-sales engagements as subject-matter expert to identify and plan for security-related solutions
· Initiate Security Incident Response for client and internal security compromises
· Monitor security solutions and remediate issues for clients. Tools include, but are not limited to Arctic Wolf, SentinelOne, Liongard, Auvik, KnowBe4, etc.
· Participate in implementation of security offerings to clients
· Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
· System documentation and consulting services to include system reviews and recommendations
· Provide escalation on off-business hours, or may be requested to assist with weekend coverage
· Enhance security in current systems by implementing and maintaining security controls
· Assist with management and implementation of phishing and security awareness training
· Effectively communicate technical concepts and processes to clients of both technical and non-technical backgrounds
· Assisting Senior Security Specialists with industry compliance processes, as needed
· Implement vulnerability scans and report to clients on the threat landscape making recommendations to improve overall security posture
· Works with all service delivery areas to develop standards for all customers
· Maintains technical knowledge through community engagement, educational workshops, obtaining certifications & reviewing publications.
· On-site visits to establish standards and expectations
· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
· Part of on-call Security Team rotation and availability as needed during off business hours
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related field
· Skills to diagnose and effectively troubleshoot technical issues
· Acceptance that security incidents without notice, 24/7/365 availability is required for security incidents, if they were to occur, until the issue is remediated
· In-depth knowledge of security concepts, protocols, policies, and best practices.
· REQUIRED: CompTIA Network+ certification, or equivalent (six-month grace period)
· REQUIRED: CompTIA Security+ certification, or equivalent (six-month grace period)
· Understanding of Microsoft 365 platform and experience with security configurations in Microsoft 365

· Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change
· Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
· Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
· Service awareness of all the organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided
· Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
· Technical writing skills are required

Physical Requirements:
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
