Logistics Compliance Coordinator. Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive logistics coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the supply chain process, ensuring that all logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain management. Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring Ensure full compliance with all applicable
FMCSA
and
DOT
regulations (49 CFR). Monitor changes to federal and state DOT laws and update internal policies accordingly. Maintain company compliance with hours of service (HOS), ELD, CDL, drug/alcohol testing, and vehicle safety regulations. 2. Driver Qualification & Management Maintain and audit
driver qualification files
(DQFs), including MVRs, CDL copies, medical cards, safety certifications and all other regulatory documents. Oversee documentation onboarding and termination processes to ensure driver files remain compliant. Work cross-functionally to coordinate required
DOT physicals , background checks, and license verifications. 3. Safety & Training Programs Develop and deliver safety training programs for drivers and DOT personnel. Investigate driver incidents, safety violations, and accidents, and ensure compliance with recommended corrective actions. 4. Recordkeeping & Reporting Maintain accurate records for
vehicle inspections (DVIRs) ,
preventive maintenance ,
spot repairs , and
annual inspections
using multiple software systems. Ensure proper documentation of
fuel usage ,
IFTA mileage reporting , and
trip records . Submit compliance-related reports to internal leadership and regulatory agencies as needed. 5. Drug & Alcohol Testing Program Coordinate
pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion , and return-to-duty drug/alcohol tests. Ensure testing is conducted in accordance with DOT Part 382 requirements. Maintain all related records in a secure and confidential manner. 6. Fleet Operations & Support Support dispatch and operations with
vehicle assignments ,
unit tracking , and maintenance scheduling. Coordinate with external partners like
Penske ,
Chicago Trailer Pool, and McKinney Trailers , and others to track repairs, inspections, and service intervals. Monitor use of GPS, camera systems (when applicable), and telematics to ensure driver accountability. 7. Audit & Inspection Readiness Prepare for and support
DOT audits, roadside inspections , and
internal safety audits . Ensure all required documents are readily accessible in binders, vehicles, and digital formats. 8. Communication & Leadership Collaborate with company personnel across all company locations (Houston, Dallas, Joliet, IL, Philadelphia, PA, etc.). Provide regular updates and compliance briefings to management. Promote a culture of
safety, accountability, and continuous improvement . 9. Additional duties as assigned. Requirements: Valid Texas driver license Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with homeowners and colleagues. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a strong attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong organizational and time-management skills Clear written and verbal communication Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams Strong initiative and capacity to learn with demonstrated attention to detail and judgment ability to build relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the organization Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent organizational skills Some travel will be required. : CDL-A License Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA transportation regulations 2-5 years of DOT/FMCSA Compliance experience BA/BS in Business Administration, Logistics/Transportation Management.
