We are seeking a Senior Program Manager for Fraud Prevention and Payment Risk to take charge of enhancing and expanding fraud and risk operations for our consumer credit card program. This pivotal role involves defining and refining our fraud policies, managing real-time risk strategies, and facilitating cross-functional execution among product, engineering, operations, and compliance teams. As a strategic leader, you will play an essential role in ensuring portfolio health, fostering customer trust, and maintaining regulatory compliance within a fast-growing startup environment. Your Impact
Financial Operations Design, implement, and manage comprehensive fraud detection and prevention strategies covering the entire customer lifecycle: from onboarding to authorization, clearing, chargebacks, and collections. Own the roadmap for fraud detection tools and partner integrations, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and third-party vendors. Continuously monitor key risk metrics (fraud loss rates, false positive rates, velocity triggers) to optimize both security measures and customer experience. Provide insightful reports on risk trends and performance to internal leadership and external stakeholders, including banks and auditors. Card Operations Lead response efforts and remediation planning for fraud events, including liaising with banking partners and processors. Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards like Reg Z and UDAAP, as well as internal controls. Work closely with operations teams to implement new strategies and ensure thorough cross-training of support staff. Drive continuous improvement in operational workflows, rules, and models. Requirements
6+ years of experience in fraud strategy, payment risk, or credit operations within consumer financial products. In-depth knowledge of credit card transaction flows, authorization/settlement systems, and dispute resolution processes. Hands-on experience with fraud management platforms and orchestration tools (e.g., Kount, Sardine, Sift, Alloy, or similar). Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, comfortable transforming data into actionable insights. Excellent program management abilities, adept at keeping projects on track across multiple teams while prioritizing effectively. A proactive builder's mindset, thriving in ambiguous situations, seeking ownership, and moving swiftly. Experience in launching or operating a credit card program in a fintech setting. Familiarity with credit bureau data, identity verification frameworks, and behavioral risk indicators. Exposure to AML/BSA or compliance-centric fraud controls. Benefits
