Overview

The Shipboard Network Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing all aspects of the local area networks aboard US Navy Submarines. As a Shipboard Network Systems Engineer your goal will be to ensure the integrity/implementation of the network infrastructure delivering robust systems connectivity and functionality to Navy submarine crews. You will be expected to perform well in a fast-paced and results-oriented team. Duties and Responsibilities include: Design and implement network solutions that meet US DoD standards and/or improve the efficiency/coverage of current networks

Integration of government furnished information and equipment Perform technology investigations and trade off studies Design and implement system configurations for shipboard and laboratory uses Document and manage the installation of each network Maintain and upgrade existing systems as necessary Troubleshoot and resolve shipboard issues and network faults Provide remote support and troubleshooting to Navy crews Report design and construction status to key stakeholders Review and update relevant test forms and test procedures Installation and testing of Navy Applications Qualifications

Required: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Systems and Networks, Electrical/Electronic Engineering 5+ years of professional engineering experience Preferred: Project management DoD contract experience EVMS experience Military network/IT experience
