Be able to perform work involving two or more maintenance crafts to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or structure of establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipefitting, welding, machining, machine & equipment repairing, and electrical work. May also, include planning & laying out of work relating to repairs; repairing electrical and/or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment and repairing building, floors and stairs. Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical equipment and fixtures. Insure that work is in accordance with codes & specifications. Use hand-welding and flame cutting equipment such as arc welders, gas welders & gas torches to join together components of fabricated sheet metal assemblies; or to cut, trim, or scarf metal objects to dimensions specified by lay-out. Assemble, install, alter, and/or repair pipe systems (metal, plastic, ceramic, compositions) that carry water, air and other liquids or gases. Work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, written or verbal instructions. Assist and train other maintenance workers: perform related duties as assigned.

Desired Requirements:
1. One-year metal fabrication and welding in all disciplines. Familiarity with welding processes such as arc, mig, oxy-acetylene, and tig. Metal fabrication to include operations with common shop tools such as cut-off saw, drill press, shear, brake, press and lathe. 2. One-year industrial electricity, including National Electric Code, power plant distribution systems, electrical print reading, and electrical installation of conduit/wiring systems. Must be able to calculate the size service required, determine the proper conduit & wire size needed, use manual and hydraulic conduit benders to form conduits needed for installation, pull wire and terminate connections. Must be able to use tools to perform wiring and installation of AC/DC motors, transformers, disconnects, breaker boxes and junction boxes. 3. Six months industrial hydraulics and pneumatics to include basic hydraulic/pneumatic print reading. Must understand functions of basic system components such as directional valves, pressure relief valves, pressure switches, accumulators, and servo-valves. 4. One year industrial controls to include items such as motor control circuits, photo-eyes, limit switches, and proximity switches. A working knowledge of components commonly found in machine control panels such as motor starters, overloads, control transformers, forward/reversing contactors, and other electrical devices. Must be able to use electrical schematics, basic test equipment, and manuals as needed to troubleshoot electrical problems with equipment. 5. Six months pipefitting. Must be able to layout, fabricate, assemble, maintain, and repair piping systems for hot/cold water, various gases, and machine hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant, & lubricating systems. Must be able to select type and size of pipe and related materials; cut and thread pipe; assemble and install a variety of metal and non-metal pipe, pipefitting, and mounting hardware. Test pipe and pipe fitting; using appropriate mounting hardware suspend piping from building structure in a safe manner.
Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Five years of multi-craft industrial maintenance experience applying the above skills on machines similar to those used at GE Aviation. 2. Or successful completion of the Madisonville Maintenance Apprentice P
