Systems Administrator

Our client in the downtown Cleveland, Ohio area is looking for a Systems Administrator who has experience with Palo Alto. This is a 6 month contract to hire position. This position will be working onsite. Position Summary: The System Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud environments. This role assists in the day-to-day administration of network devices, virtual servers, security systems, and monitoring tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, VMware, Cisco networking, Splunk, cloud services (Azure or AWS), and PCI compliance support. The position offers an opportunity to work closely with senior IT staff and grow technical expertise in a dynamic hybrid environment. Primary Responsibilities: Assist in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls and security policies Support the operation of VMware vSphere/ESXi virtual environments, including basic provisioning and maintenance Perform routine administration of Cisco switches and routers, including port configurations and basic troubleshooting Help maintain Splunk dashboards and alerts for system health and log monitoring Provide basic administration and support of cloud-based infrastructure (Azure or AWS) Support infrastructure and system changes in line with PCI-DSS requirements and assist with related documentation Monitor system performance and respond to service outages and incidents Participate in patching, updates, backups, and inventory management Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures Collaborate with senior team members to improve infrastructure reliability and security Qualifications: 5 years of experience in system or network administration Working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, VMware, and Cisco network devices Familiarity with Splunk or other log monitoring tools Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and interest in cloud operations Understanding of security principles and willingness to support compliance initiatives Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to follow standard procedures Excellent communication and organizational skills If qualified and interested, please submit a resume using the link below.
