Other information:
  • The Le Sueur Area Adult Cooperative Basic Education serves 5 school districts in South Central MN and is seeking an evening teacher at our Gaylord Site. The hours are 4:00-7:00 pm one-two evenings per week - Mondays and Thursdays. The position runs the regular school year, September through May with an abbreviated summer school schedule if desired.
  • ABE teachers are paid as hourly teachers. Hourly teachers are provided 15 minutes of paid prep time for every instructional hour worked.
  • Professional development is available.

Summary of Duties:
Instruct English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults. Teacher will teach ESL curriculum, give pre and post tests, and help students to use English in everyday life.

Qualifications Required:
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license (Minnesota Department of Education)
  • Ability to differentiate instruction according to varied learning styles and educational levels
  • Experience and competency with the use of technology in the classroom
  • Knowledge of student-centered learning practices
  • Experience working with students of varied ages, levels, and cultural backgrounds
