Job Summary

Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS) a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC division, is seeking an Industrial Cleaning Technician who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service and skills to our company, clients, and employees.

Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we carry out projects across the United States.

CCS provides industrial cleaning and spill response to almost every pulp and paper mill in the Pacific Northwest. We also service major oil companies and a wide range of manufacturing and industrial clients. CCS has demonstrated its ability to complete large and complex industrial cleaning challenges on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the most stringent industrial health & safety programs. No industrial cleaning job is too large or too small for CCS.

The responsibilities of an Industrial Cleaning Technician will vary depending on the specific job assignment. Responsibilities may include operating a vacuum ruck and handling hoses, performing hydro blasting with high-pressure water, cleaning tanks & entering confined spaces, etc. This role requires a strong team-oriented mindset and strict adherence to all safety protocols.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Valid Drivers License and ability to be insured under company insurance plan required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in roles involving intensive physical activity, including repetitive heavy lifting (up to 50lbs), prolonged standing, bending, climbing, and working in a demanding physical environment for extended periods of time.
  • Regular on-call availability is required as part of this role. This may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Required to meet facial hair standards in accordance with OSHAs Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.34).

Duties and Responsibilities

The Industrial Cleaning Technician possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:

  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
  • Operation of different heavy duty work-related equipment, including but not limited to high pressure pumps, vacuum trucks, different industrial cleaning agents, etc.
  • Consistently wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary in accordance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Responsible for adherence to safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, in relations to but not limited to operations, safety, equipment, emergency response.
  • Inspect surface cleaned to ensure compliance with company and customer expectations.
  • Remain professional and represent the company well, great customer service required.
  • Works as a team participant along with maintenance staff to ensure the team meets quality standards set by company.
  • Test machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Remain up to date on all safety training and mill trainings, mostly completed on an annual basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:

  • Work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Willing to get dirty and be in wet conditions at times.
  • Frequently moving hoses and other work-related equipment up to 50lbs for various needs.
  • Observe details at close range.
  • Communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
  • Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding and/or platforms.
  • Travel up to 25%, some overnight travel may be required.
  • Work in environments where there may be exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, including chemicals, fumes, hazardous substances.
  • Perform duties in an industrial environment where consistently high noise levels are present.
  • Perform tasks that may involve working in confined spaces such as tanks, tunnels, or enclosed structures, as well as at elevated heights using ladders, platforms, or scaffolding.
