Summary of Position: Develop and implement equipment and processes to manufacture products to design specifications and quality standards. Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls as it relates to safety, quality, productivity and cost. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for providing technical direction for assigned processes and equipment Develop and maintain written procedures and work instructions for assigned areas of responsibility Communicate with other departments and management regarding manufacturing capabilities, production requirements and other considerations to facilitate the manufacturing processes. Optimize existing production processes by implementing solutions for equipment effectiveness, flow and efficiency improvements Design, develop, test, source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods Coordinate vendor and customer activity to support projects Assist with technical aspects of Continuous Improvement projects and kaizen activity Apply statistical methods and perform analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency Apply Lean/Six Sigma principles (A3 problem solving, kaizen, SMED, 5S) Promote and lead safety related projects and mindset Qualifications and Requirements: B.S. in mechanical, chemical, manufacturing or industrial engineering (or equivalent) 5+ years applicable experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment Familiarity
