Senior Technical Advisor (Computer Network Systems Engineer SME)
Koniag Professional Services (KPS) is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Advisor (Computer Network Systems Engineer SME) with active TS/SCI, for the Defense Information System Agency's J6 Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Enterprise Directorate (DISA J6 C4E). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical oversight and strategic direction for mission critical network delivery, at multiple onsite locations in the National Capitol Region (NCR). These will include, Fort Meade MD, Warrenton VA and some CONUS travel to support this customer. Responsibilities: Advisement and Consultation: Applies subject matter expertise to provide consultation and advisement to senior leaders on DoD Information Network (DoDIN) operations, zero trust architectures, integration, and test and evaluation. Collaboration & Technical Leadership: Serves as a liaison between engineering teams, cybersecurity leads, and operational stakeholders to align network capabilities with evolving mission needs. Network Architecture Design: Develops and implements secure, resilient, and scalable network architectures to support space-ground communications and mission data flows across multiple security domains. Cybersecurity Integration: Ensures compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, including RMF, zero trust principles, and integration of cross-domain solutions (CDS) to protect mission-critical networks. Mission Communications Support: Engineers and optimizes send-to-end communications systems, to ensure reliable data transmission for operations and control. Network Operations & Monitoring: Defines and supports network performance monitoring, fault isolation, and operational troubleshooting procedures for mission assurance and rapid fault resolution. Test and Evaluation: Develops, designs, and executes operational test as well as analysis of test data after operational test criteria satisfied, ensuring all Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) are executed correctly with objectives and thresholds results observed and recorded. Requirements: 15+ years related experience Must have a CURRENT/ACTIVE TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility to obtain SCI access. Demonstrated experience serving as a Computer Network Systems Engineer Technical Advisor and/or Consultant for a large DoD program Extensive experience designing, securing, and managing complex, mission-critical networks supporting defense systems, with deep knowledge of network protocols, cybersecurity, and cross-domain solutions. Extensive experience with DoD Information Network (DoDIN) operations, zero trust architectures, and integration, with a demonstrated ability to architect resilient, secure, and scalable network infrastructures. Experience as a Test Engineer or related Test and Evaluation (T&E) experience Expert in integrating and engineering cybersecurity into mission systems Expert in developing cyber tools for use by cyber operators Experience rapidly maturing and applying technology in operationally relevant environments Experience with Agile Methodologies for iterative network project management. Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), DODAF 2.0 standards, and change management processes to ensure smooth network updates and configurations. Experience working with classified systems and environments Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities Proven stakeholder management and effective communication strategies with clients and senior management. Ability to take a conceptual discussion and build a presentation to convey the message to senior leaders. Strong technical writing and documentation skills Advanced MS Project, Word and PowerPoint skills; proficient Sharepoint, MS Teams, Excel and Outlook application skills Current Professional Certification in Cisco, Azure, VMware, and/or ITIL. (e.g., CCNP Enterprise, DevNet Professional, AZ-104, VCP-NV, ITIL4) Education: Master's Degree in a related field.
