A large Los Angeles healthcare system of hospitals, clinics, and primary care providers is looking to hire a Senior Citrix Engineer for a 6-month contract. The role can fully remote but must live within 50-100 miles of 90032. Summary: The Citrix Engineer, Senior is expected to provide technical direction within the team and across the Information Systems department. Assists peers and mentors less experienced team members through the application and sharing of technical knowledge, guidance and direction. Synthesizes analysis, identifies root causes, develops and recommends key work products. Delivers technical solutions for Citrix services. Leads complex evaluation, development, implementation, integration and administration of internal and external business solutions. Provides insight to management on issues. Minimum Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field required In lieu of a bachelor s degree, 10 years of relevant business support and/or information technology support experience are required. Minimum Experience: Minimum 6 years of relevant business support and/or information technology support experience (in lieu of a bachelor s degree, 10 years of relevant business support and/or information technology support experience are required) Mush have working knowledge of designing, installing, maintaining and configuring Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, StoreFront,NetScaler, Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS), and provisioning VMs in VMware ESX and/or Nutanix AHV. Hands-on expertise with Windows Server, XenApp,XenDesktop, StoreFront, NetScaler, Citrix MachineCreation Services (MCS), and Nutanix AHV and/orVMware ESX. Demonstrated experience with Windows ServerOperating System, XenApp, XenDesktop, StoreFront,NetScaler, Active Directory and Citrix Group Policies,Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS), AHV and/or ESX hypervisors and experience with system design, capacity planning and capacity management required. Additional Required Skills (Endpoint engineering focus): In addition to Citrix expertise, candidates must demonstrate broader endpoint engineering capabilities to support the full desktop and endpoint environment, including: SCCM and endpoint management skills PowerShell Scripting related to Desktop automation Power BI reporting Experience with SQL to create databases, queries, and perform simple database maintenance SCCM experience with application deployment and reporting Active Directory Group Policy management Experience with OS Customizations Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops would be a plus Experience with Citrix NetScaler load balancing would be a plus Accountabilities: Delivers technical solutions for Citrix services and hosted applications and desktops. Provides recommendations to streamlining the Citrix environment and mentors peers on best practice recommendations. Interface with end-users and application testers to validate and troubleshoot applications hosted on XenApp and/or VDI. Assists peers and mentors less experienced team members through the application and sharing of technical knowledge,guidance and direction. Coordinates with IT staff, team members, vendors, and other key personnel to determine issues,needs, approach, solution, scheduling, and implementation. Synthesizes analysis, identifies root causes, develops and recommends key work products. Leads complex evaluation, development, implementation, integration and administration of internal and external business solutions. Provides insight to management on issues. Establishes and maintains strict testing and deployment methodologies for Information Systems. Applies sound IT production and change management methods to all areas of Information Systems. Designs and implements the processes to establish and maintain appropriately available computer systems operations environment. Works with other infrastructure and IT staff to maintain and support of Citrix services and applications. Performs technical and data architectural analysis and planning of the IT systems installations and upgrades. Leads/facilitates meetings and conducts presentations for both technical and non-technical staff to cultivate and encourage sustained agreement, support and collaboration for technical initiatives and courses of action. Leads/manages large and/or enterprise-wide IT projects involving participants from the technical and business segments of the organization; develops and proposes architectural and infrastructural standards; presents findings and proposals.
