Eurofins BioPharma Testing (BPT) has a Calibrations, Certification and Metrology business unit. The Eurofins Calibration, Certification and Metrology business is seeking a Business Unit Manager for the East Coast. The Business Unit Manager has responsibility for continuing to build the team in New Jersey and building laboratories and teams in North Carolina and other East Coast locations, including ensuring that the laboratories can be brought into ISO 17025 compliance and then leading the growth of the teams. Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Continues to build the team in New Jersey. Be directly involved in building the lab in North Carolina and in other locations on the East Coast as they become available, including interviewing and hiring appropriate personnel, ensuring appropriate equipment is purchased, installed, and operational in a timely manner and quality systems are deployed and followed. Provides operational leadership and support to both new and existing labs through effective planning, execution, and resource management. Is involved in merger and acquisition activities including identification of potential acquisitions and diligence of acquisitions. Motivates staff to perform at high levels, and ensures laboratory profitability through engaged employees, satisfied clients, efficient processes that are quality driven, and P&L Management. Ensures the implementation of the laboratory Quality Management System and its compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 in conjunction with the Quality Team. Develops and maintains production schedules, ensuring on-time completion and delivery of Final Reports and Data Packages. Provides and assists customers with understanding regulatory guidelines, test results, technical support, and the appropriateness of specific tests, including advantages and limitations of test procedures. Accomplishes productivity through effective communication of company goals/objectives and supports staff in achieving such expectations by appraising performance and giving continuous feedback. Plans and oversees development of new laboratory technologies and test methods. Ensures continuous development and training of staff. Ensures that the facility, instrumentation, and equipment are well maintained and in good working order. Handles client and employee requests and concerns appropriately and in a timely manner. Ensures that analytical data, laboratory reports, quality documents, and data packages are approved by qualified personnel. Supports and participates in customer and regulatory audits. Education
Bachelor's degree in applied sciences or a related field. Experience
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a calibration, metrology, or testing laboratory specializing with chromatography analysis, including at least 5 years in a management role. Hands-on experience working with laboratory instrumentation calibration and/or metrology, particularly with chromatography instrumentation. Thorough knowledge of quality systems, particularly ISO 17025. Experience working with a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
