Design Engineer Opportunity
MARTIN is looking for Design Engineers to support OEM Style Programs. The candidate will be supporting design engineering services for new and upcoming development programs. The focus is on development of experience bucks for customer research. The role emphasizes interior and exterior design requirements, understanding engineering direction, and providing design concepts accordingly. The individual must integrate safety, regulation, and function into the product design and lead a successful production launch of the finalized product design. Primary Responsibilities: Architect the prototype Develop CAD based on direction from Ford Industrial Designers Understand vehicle concepts and layouts for exterior and interior components Strong interpretation of design intent Understand design terminology & properties in development work Versatile in 3D visualization tools, CAD (Catia V5) Ensure exterior and interior compatibility of surface to support property build Basic Qualifications / Requirements: BSME or equivalent Support property development for the interior and exterior of a simplified experience prototype 2-5 years' experience (minimum) in the automotive industry - specifically in component design Strong background of GD&T Tool design and build experience Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability and excellent analytical problem-solving skills Experience in full cycle product development and launch - from concept to start of production Product & component design, definition and data release (3D & 2D) Proficient in CAE simulation applications Proficient in CATIA5, Solidworks, product drawing requirements including GD&T Proficient in creation of eBOM, and document management systems Work within hardware design/build project budgets Work as part of an execution team Assume lead design engineer role on assigned projects Maintain and track personal workload Proficient in MS Office applications Willing to work occasional overtime when required to meet special deadlines in response to customer requirements MARTIN Overview: MARTIN is a dedicated and ambitious full-service engineering, manufacturing, and remanufacturing company providing global solutions to the automotive, aerospace, defense, motorsports, and marine industries.
