Senior Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer)
for
Houston, TX , and surrounding areas. As a Critical Power Technician, you will support our customers in onsite preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance of critical power systems (UPS, DC systems, inverters, PDUs, STS, and standalone reserve battery technologies). As a UPS Field Service Engineer for Unified Power, you will apply a practical, results?driven mindset to deliver swift and effective solutions for customer needs. Core Responsibilities
Install electrical equipment such as small rack-mounted UPS equipment, various-sized batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment. Maintain Battery Cabinets and racks, Maintenance Bypass, Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems, and other electrical equipment. Perform remedial services on a lifecycle basis, including failure analysis, troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations. Build strong customer relationships and provide exceptional service; upsell products where appropriate. Field troubleshoot calls from customers to a satisfactory resolution. Respond quickly to critical situations. Teach and mentor crew members on site work, troubleshooting, repair, and data analysis techniques. Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface malfunctions using test equipment across multiple products and technologies. Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs. Core Experience
Prior military training in electronics or avionics (A School, AIT, etc.). Minimum of three (3) years in a third-party critical power field service or technical support role with demonstrated progression in technical proficiency and capability OR minimum of five (5) years in an OEM service environment in the critical power space. Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles. Knowledge of test equipment operation, such as multimeters and battery test equipment. Ability to read and interpret electronics schematics and troubleshoot to the component level. Experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards. Strong work ethic, punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability; capable of leading as a senior UPS/Critical Power Engineer. Good judgment with the ability to make timely, sound decisions in fast-paced environments. Physical/Work Environment
Safety is a top priority; candidates must comply with OSHA and applicable DOT standards. Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (if driving a company vehicle) and pass a pre-employment drug screen. Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds for short durations. Ability to kneel or crouch periodically and stand for extended periods. Ability to travel for multiple days with per diem as required by projects. Coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining 100% safety awareness. Handle lifting of heavy objects and overhead work as needed. Compensation
