Design Engineer
Qorvo supplies innovative semiconductor solutions that make a better world possible. We combine product and technology leadership, systems-level expertise and global manufacturing scale to quickly solve our customers' most complex technical challenges. Qorvo serves multiple high-growth segments of large global markets, including consumer electronics, smart home/IoT, automotive, EVs, battery-powered appliances, network infrastructure, healthcare and aerospace/defense. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our team focused on the development of Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), RF switches, and controllers for cellular applications. This role involves advanced design work using SOI, SiGe, and Bulk CMOS technologies, and supports both standalone components and their integration into multi-chip modules (MCMs). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RFIC design, simulation, and measurement, and be capable of executing to aggressive schedules while collaborating across disciplines. Key Roles and Responsibilities: The design and development of RF LNA, switches and/or controller for cellular applications, potentially using SOI, SiGe and Bulk CMOS Support standalone LNA and switch modules and their integration into a multi-chip module (MCM) Working with the internal module customers with die deliverables and optimizing the RF chain Working with layout designers to use best practices for layout Designing and using analog blocks like Bandgap, LDO, Bias circuits etc. from time to time Creating test laminates to measure the taped-out hardware and working with Lab technicians to troubleshoot measurements issues and perform sim vs meas correlation Conducting peer reviews of their designs, including expected and/or actual results Writing regular program updates and communicating progress and issues in a clear and concise manner. Be able to execute to an aggressive schedule Minimum Qualifications: MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience in LNA, switch and/or other RFIC design Extensive experience designing with HFSS, Cadence, and ADS Strong background with RF measurements and characterization Experience in standard RF design techniques and best practices Working knowledge of device physics for IC design, especially tradeoffs for LNA and switch configuration Strong background in various linear and nonlinear simulation techniques and simulators Capable of refining their simulation results to achieve excellent predictability with the goal of first pass success Good communication skills Be able to work independently Knowledge of RF PA design and other large signal circuit design is considered a plus Candidates with successful release of production LNA and switches for mobile applications would be highly considered Position Location: Greensboro, NC
