Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Reliability Engineer to join the Care Solutions North American Maintenance Reliability Center of Excellence. This role is responsible for driving world-class equipment reliability and operational excellence, with a primary focus on the Mapleton, IL site. The Reliability Engineer will partner with technical and operations teams across the region to implement best practices, ensure compliance with Evonik and industry standards, and enhance key performance metrics. This position offers the opportunity to lead long-term reliability strategies, improve maintenance processes, and strengthen the foundation for future TPM implementation. Responsibilities: Develop equipment reliability activities for Care Solutions in the North American region (primary focus on Mapleton IL). Develop, implement and oversee mechanical integrity program and reliability program (preventive & predictive maintenance) including review technical findings, direct path forward/resolutions and modify maintenance plans for effectiveness. Conduct bad actor analysis (top cost drivers and repetitive failures) and derive strategic plans for bad actors. Perform root cause analysis and investigation on equipment failures and bad actors. Develop and maintain a close relationship with the applicable technical service decision-makers in all NA Regional sites to implement technologies and services that support Care Solutions site equipment availability and operational efficiency. Monitor important reliability trends and technical developments for the development of new applications. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering discipline with strong maintenance reliability experience required. Advanced degree or certifications like SMRP preferred. Subject Matter Expert specialized in Rotating Equipment is preferred. General plant experience with a minimum of 5 years in a plant production position. Strong background and broad-based experience in the complex field of maintenance or reliability engineering. A thorough knowledge of technical codes, standards, and regulations is required. Ability to effectively collaborate with engineering, plant production, maintenance management, and shopfloor teams, both locally and globally, and positively contribute to short-term and long-term strategic planning. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and manage expectations to create trust and credibility across a broad spectrum of the company. Summary Compensation & Benefits: Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
