MRI Technologist - Lead
As an MRI Technologist-Lead, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality, greatly enhances the overall success of MRI imaging for diagnostic use in patient care in RRH Radiology. This advanced position will include additional duties and responsibilities that are assigned by the modality supervisor or department manager. Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures. Responsibilities: Performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures in the presence of a strong magnetic field while monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety. Educates patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam. Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts. Provides on-call coverage for MRI Section of Radiology. Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the Radiant Care Connect EMR. Cleans restocks and prepares rooms on a daily basis. Provides excellent customer service. Verify patient identification and order/requisition; utilizing clinical indications to assess the appropriateness of procedure and consulting with the provider/radiologist for order verification, as needed. Administers IV contrast media (they must also be competency assessed on orientation and/or annually). Trained in PACS software and transfers imaging data for archiving and post-data processing. Follows direct orders from Radiologist or referring provider for MRI imaging and contrast administration via protocol. Receives verbal orders and documents appropriately in the EMR. Collaborates with all modalities for mutual patient flow. Performs transport duties as needed. Monitor patient status; notify nurse/physician in changes of patient condition Appropriately maintains all MRI equipment and accessories. All other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: NYS license in Radiologic Technology. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT-R). NYS Injection Certification. BLS Certification. Preferred Qualifications: Two year college degree or equivalent. Three years of MRI Technologist and/or Radiologic experience (combined experience accepted). IV Certification. Physical Requirements: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. Pay Range: $36.00 - $48.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
