Smurfit Kappa
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities. This is a 3rd shift position.
Primary Duties
Take rolls of paper to the corrugator, always taking butt rolls first Learn to read corrugator lineups Record all rolls taken to the corrugator on the proper forms Butt rolls must be marked as to the size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade before returning to stock Unload rolls from trailers. Check for and note any physical damage to the rolls Operate the clamp truck in a safe manner Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs Complete clamp truck inspection report at the beginning of each shift Delivers to and removes from the corrugator roll stock as required by production to keep the corrugator running Keep warehouse organized and clean Learn to make starch Learn to treat waste water and operate the waste water treatment facility Assist in training the starch mixer in the operations of the clamp truck Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies. High school diploma or GED Able to speak, read, and comprehend English Able to write legibly in English Able to lift 25-50 lbs. on a consistent basis Must be able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy Must be a qualified Bundler Must be eligible to bid for this position under the present labor/management agreement or have current work-related experience Prior work experience in the corrugated industry, preferred Prior industrial power truck or heavy equipment operating experience, preferred 6 months' experience on the wet end of the corrugator, preferred
