Engineering Project Manager

This position focuses on delivering projects in the area of wastewater conveyance system management and planning, emphasizing data and project management for sanitary sewer condition assessments and rehabilitation contracts. The role requires excellent technical skills combined with an acumen for project management, consulting, and client service. Responsibilities: Manage contractors performing various sewer assessment technologies, including tracking schedule, budget, performance, utilization, and submittals, as well as holding status meetings. Provide input and recommendations to overcome contractor problems encountered in the field. Develop assignments for assessment in new areas as needed, including the development of GIS shape files, mobile maps, and asset lists. Review contract deliverables, perform quality assurance on submittals from contractors, and respond to requests for information. Daily management of assessment contracts, reviewing assessment submittals, and providing preliminary rehabilitation recommendations. Coordinate with inspectors, community outreach, engineering, and contractors as needed. Effectively communicate with clients to develop collaborative solutions and discuss project results and recommendations to facilitate informed decision-making. Write, review, and provide clear, concise input to investigation, regulatory, or solutions reports. Manage deliverables to scope, schedule, and budget. Essential Skills: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other applied subjects. Minimum 5 years of technical experience in wastewater conveyance system project management, assessment, design, and construction. Experience developing strategy, negotiating project schedules, and structuring agreements. Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Master's degree in civil engineering or other applied subjects preferred. Working knowledge of ArcGIS with associated production of maps, files, and lists. Experience with InfoMaster/InfoAsset. Experience in the southeast US wastewater industry. Development and/or implementation of CMOM programs. Experience with delivery of consent decree programs. NASSCO certification (MACP and PACP) is preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Project. Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet capability in Excel. Strong organization and administrative skills, experienced in budgeting and reporting. Ability to communicate with tact, friendliness, and patience both verbally and in writing. Ability to analyze issues and develop and deploy solutions. Ability to multi-task and adjust to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines. Willingness to take initiative and suggest improvements and solutions. Ability to effectively operate within diverse and cross-functional groups. Ability to form and maintain professional business relationships. Work Environment: This position offers a 3-2 hybrid work model at the client's site in Decatur, with the first couple of weeks requiring full-time presence on-site. The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Project, and the ability to learn computerized project management systems. The work environment encourages teamwork and collaboration across diverse and cross-functional groups. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tucker, Georgia. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
