Financial Business analyst Job at Compunnel, Inc. in New York

The Financial Business Analyst will play a key role in driving the delivery of strategic initiatives through effective business and data analysis, process documentation, and change management support.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The analyst will support business users, contribute to process improvements, and help ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support key initiatives through disciplined business and data analysis.
• Gather and document business requirements, develop process flow diagrams, user stories, and business requirements documents (BRDs).
• Create mock-ups of screens and interfaces to support system design.
• Conduct financial analysis, reconciliations, and monitoring activities.
• Establish and maintain data processes and controls to ensure data integrity.
• Support change management efforts including user documentation, communication memos, and training materials.
• Provide day-to-day support for business technologies and respond to user inquiries.
• Perform ad hoc analysis based on management requests.
• Identify opportunities for business process improvement and technology efficiencies.

Required Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in business/data analysis and quality assurance.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; knowledge of SQL and VBA is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated initiative, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Experience supporting technology implementations or change management initiatives.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in collaborative, open-office environments.
• Familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools.
• Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours when needed.
