Virtual BOA is hiring: Business Analyst II in Columbia

The Business Analyst II position supports the Business Analytics team by delivering advanced data analysis, report development, and technical solutions to address business challenges. This role involves end-to-end analytical functions, including scoping, data extraction, modeling, and reporting. The Business Analyst II works closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide actionable insights while maintaining high data integrity.

Technical functions
• Performs end-to-end analytics from ETL processes on raw data files though building final deliverables
• Demonstrates expertise in SQL Server relational databases, including creating, updating, and maintaining tables, views, and procedures using T-SQL scripting
• Demonstrates knowledge of SQL Server skills including query optimization, advanced joins, CTEs, window functions, dynamic SQL, CASE statements, Error handling, and Indexing
• Develops efficient data models to support meaningful Power BI reports, providing actionable insights to end users
• Utilizes knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools, with a primary focus on Power BI
• Ensures data security and integrity, particularly when handling sensitive information
• Leverages Power Platform tools, including Power Automate and Power Apps, to automate workflows and improve business processes
• Has knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud computing services Collaborative and Personal

Responsibilities
• Works with non-technical teams to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Analyzes business services to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, productivity, and profitability
• Creates and maintains detailed documentation for technical processes, business requirements, and project workflows
• Evaluates open-ended requests, proposes practical solutions, and delivers results within defined timelines
• Supports project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure scope, requirements, and deadlines are met
• Adheres to established department standards, including quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction metrics
• Handles a high-turnaround workload by juggling multiple deadlines and working efficiently to meet client needs
• Manages protected health information (PHI) daily without compromising security and integrity
• Participates in educational programs to stay abreast of industry trends and changes in technology, including AWS, Microsoft Fabric, and Power Platform advancements
• Consistently meets or exceeds all established department standards including quality, attendance, and deadlines
• Possesses a cooperative and positive attitude toward clients, management, and coworkers by responding politely and professionally and being a valued team player
• Accepts change with a positive attitude

Qualifications
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration preferred; equivalent combination of education and/or work experience may be considered
• 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role with evidence of progression during tenure
• 2+ years demonstrating advanced skill in SQL coding (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio)
• 1+ years demonstrating advanced skill with Power BI including DAX or other BI tools
• 1+ years of experience with automation tools such as Power platform
• Experience with both Azure and AWS cloud services platforms relevant to database development and reporting techniques
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Suite tools with Intermediate or better Excel skills
• Strong analytical and logic skills needed to interpret complex data sets and troubleshoot technical issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with project management guidelines
• Strong attention to detail
