Key Responsibilities of the Surgical Technologist:
Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures.
Assist surgeons and surgical team members during operations.
Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently throughout procedures.
Follow infection control and safety standards to ensure patient and staff safety.
Anticipate surgeon needs and maintain workflow in the operating room.
Document surgical procedures accurately according to hospital policy.
Requirements:
Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST or equivalent).
Current New York state license or eligibility to obtain.
Minimum of 1–2 years recent surgical experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient care skills.
