About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Underwriting Product Line Manager with a focus on Workers' Compensation. This senior leadership role is pivotal in developing and implementing comprehensive underwriting strategies that align with the company's profitability and growth goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and disseminating enterprise-level underwriting guidelines, providing thought leadership on coverage nuances and emerging industry issues, and representing the Workers' Compensation line in both internal and external forums. A key aspect of the role is to partner with various functional areas, including claims, actuarial, ops, and IT, to enhance data capture, analytics, and system capabilities that support underwriting decisions. The VP will also be involved in portfolio analysis, market insights, and monitoring loss trends to ensure the company's underwriting approach is both effective and compliant with regulatory standards.

Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in both field underwriting and corporate/home office roles, with a strong background in Workers' Compensation. The role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to influence and work with senior executives and business unit leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and managing teams of specialized, technical experts, and be adept at communicating complex issues and strategies at all levels of the organization. A deep understanding of the Workers' Compensation insurance marketplace, including emerging issues and regulatory changes, is essential. The VP will be expected to be a solution-oriented, passionate professional who can balance the need for consistency and efficiency while being responsive to the voice of the customer, in this case, the business units.
