Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled
Estimator
with experience in
mechanical piping and plumbing systems
that support HVAC equipment. This role involves estimating and managing projects that integrate plumbing with boilers, chillers, burners, cooling systems, and ductwork. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate pricing, efficient project execution, and code-compliant installations across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and government environments.Company

Key Responsibilities: Review project plans and specifications to define the plumbing and piping scope supporting HVAC systems
Develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
Prepare detailed proposals with cost breakdowns, clarifications, and project timelines
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and evaluate mechanical integration requirements
Manage awarded projects through submittals, procurement, scheduling, change orders, and closeout
Coordinate with field teams to ensure plumbing and piping integrate seamlessly with HVAC equipment
Work with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and lead times for mechanical systems
Support design-assist and constructability reviews, including hydronic piping, boiler tie-ins, and system layouts
Maintain organized estimate records, cost history, and forecasting for multiple bids/projects
Qualifications:
5+ years of estimating experience in plumbing or mechanical piping
Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems: boilers, burners, chillers, hydronic piping, and distribution systems
Familiarity with plumbing/HVAC codes and industry best practices
Experience in commercial, industrial, healthcare, or government environments preferred
Proficiency with estimating/takeoff software and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word required)
Ability to read blueprints, piping schematics, and mechanical drawings
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits:
Up to $175,000 base salary depending on experience
