POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist II provides support and demonstrates knowledge in functional areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to, recruitment & staffing, employee relations, performance management, benefits, training & development, and compensation. They will perform tasks and duties that support the overall compliance of Human Resources and help to ensure that the department is effectively meeting state, federal, local laws, and statutes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /Background:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Humanities, or related area or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant human resources experience, with at least two (2) years in full-time Generalist role Equivalent combinations of education and experience may meet the qualifications for this position such as an Associate's degree and five (5) years of relevant human resources experience. Must have the ability to obtain a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) within the first two (2) years of employment
Other Requirements:
Will have a thorough understanding of Federal and State Employment Law required for Colorado as assigned state. Will have working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, diversity, and performance management Proficiency with various software including Microsoft Office 365, compensation, and HRIS software Proficiency with ADP preferred
Additional Competencies: Ability to effectively interact with diverse employee populations including functional client groups Ability to adapt to new approaches, streamline processes, and create customer interactions Strong time management, project skills, and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment Ability to apply proactive management principles with sound judgment and influence Ability to recognize and solve problems without direct supervision Excellent verbal, written, reading, and presentation skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
Previous experience working HR in an Early Child Development or school environment is a plus.
