JOB DESCRIPTION:
The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshooting and/or repairing basic electrical Troubleshooting and/or repairing plumbing and heating systems Carpentry repairs, to include new construction HVAC preventative maintenance Drywall repairs and installation Maintain walls, floors, and ceilings Repair, replace, and maintain door hardware Perform general facility maintenance Cleaning lunch rooms Disinfecting high touch areas Painting Snow shoveling, snow plowing using trucks and/or small equipment Ability to operate trucks and small equipment Perform safety inspections to include fire safety, building safety, playground safety Fulfill general work requests Mow, edge, trim, and water lawns, fields, and other landscaped areas. Prune shrubs and trees to maintain shape, health, and aesthetics. Plant, weed, fertilize, and mulch flower beds and other landscaped areas. Repair, maintain, and adjust irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas. Perform minor repairs on outdoor structures, such as fences, gates, benches, and playground equipment. Perform documented playground safety inspections. Remove trash, debris, and hazardous materials from grounds and parking lots. Maintain and repair walkways, driveways, and parking lots, including snow removal and de-icing during winter months. Operate and maintain a variety of groundskeeping equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and tractors. Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff, school administrators, and external contractors. Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding the status of projects, equipment needs, and any issues or concerns. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds or District Custodial Supervisor. WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position requires physical effort including regularly and repetitively required to: stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must have no chemical sensitivity. Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Availability during the winter months for snow removal, you may be expected to report to work at 4:00am and work up to a 12-hour shift. The work environment may involve exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. The work environment may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts. The work environment involves exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
