Job Summary
POSITION TITLE : Child Nutrition Program Associate (Worker)
REPORTS TO : Child Nutrition Program Manager/School Principal
QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum high school diploma or equivalent and valid food handler's card/ServSafe certification, and good physical health.
SALARY : To be determined commensurate with local salary schedule, credentials, and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains high standards of control for quality food production and service. Follows operational procedures for efficient and effective food production and service, Maintains an environment conducive to protecting the health and well-being of the school's children through high levels of food safety and sanitation standards. Maintains quality standards for the preparation, presentation and service of food in a pleasant environment. Maintains integrity and accountability of the school nutrition program through compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures compliance with school/district policies and procedures. Exercise proper use and care of all equipment. Performs all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner. Communicates effectively with CNP associates, CNP manager, CNP director, and other school employees. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares food, maintains food storage, and sets up the serving line for breakfast and lunch meals.
Cleans the furnishings (counters, equipment, tables, etc) in the kitchen and dining areas. Washes cooking utensils, dishes, and equipment for sanitation. Mops, strips, and waxes the floor in the cafeteria area. Removes garbage from the kitchen and dining area, Capability of lifting heavy objects (up to 40 lbs.) and transferring extremely hot pans. Capability of standing for long periods of time in the kitchen environment during food preparation. Performs other duties as required.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : In accordance to the Board approved salary schedule.
EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance to the Selma City Schools evaluation of classified staff.
