About the Role
Sigma Systems is seeking a
Packaging Technician
to join our team in Athens, GA on a
3rd shift, 3-month contract . The Packaging Technician will be responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining packaging equipment to support the labeling, inspecting, and packaging of vaccines in a
cGMP-regulated environment .
This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure production goals are achieved.
Key Responsibilities Operate packaging equipment, including labelers, pick-and-place, heat tunnel, vision systems, and forklifts. Perform accurate product inspections to meet quality and compliance standards. Complete equipment changeovers and setups efficiently. Conduct initial troubleshooting for packaging equipment issues. Ensure proper
cGMP documentation
is completed on time and accurately. Prepare QA line clearances for small volume packaging lines. Maintain a
clean, safe, and organized work environment . Cross-train in other areas within the department as needed. Communicate effectively with shift leaders and supervisors regarding progress, issues, and process needs. Participate in
daily performance reviews
and provide feedback on process improvements. Complete batch tickets and record materials consumed during production. Support
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs
by reporting unsafe work habits or conditions. Requirements
High School diploma required
(Associate's degree preferred or equivalent experience). 2-3 years of manufacturing experience
required (pharmaceutical/packaging experience preferred). Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and effective communication skills. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work overnight hours. Basic math and computer skills. Equipment troubleshooting and process improvement skills. Preferred:
2+ years of related pharmaceutical or vaccine packaging experience.
