Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil engineering and a passion for leadership. The role offers the opportunity to oversee complex engineering projects from inception to completion, while nurturing a team-oriented environment built on trust, integrity, and professional growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct watershed-level hydrologic studies for infrastructure planning, stormwater systems, flood mitigation, and detention basin design.
- Utilize tools such as ArcGIS and specialized modeling software to perform comprehensive hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
- Create project proposals, detailed scopes of work, and cost estimates for client approval.
- Prepare and submit FEMA-related documentation including LOMR and CLOMR applications.
- Develop detailed drainage reports, incorporating data tables, visual exhibits, and responses to agency feedback.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers and technical staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Participate in contract negotiations, proposal development, and project initiation activities.
- Foster strong client relationships and maintain communication with public officials and industry stakeholders.
- Coordinate timelines, budgets, and task management to align with client expectations and project goals.
- Support team members in achieving individual career objectives and skill development.
- Contribute to the refinement of internal processes and design standards to maintain technical excellence.
- Remain adaptable and open to new approaches in project execution and team management.
- Actively seek insight from senior leadership and collaborate across departments for successful project outcomes.
- Engage with professional engineering societies and local community groups as part of our culture of giving back.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience managing H&H engineering projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
- Advanced knowledge of HEC-RAS (steady and unsteady flow) and HEC-HMS.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with MicroStation and Geopak is advantageous.
- Experience with SWMM modeling is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and process FEMA submittals (CLOMR/LOMR).
- Background in developing drainage master plans for land development and transportation projects.
- Strong communication skills across all levels of an organization and with external partners.
- Proven track record in client relationship management and agency coordination.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Availability during standard office business hours (8 AM – 5 PM, Monday to Friday) to support the needs of the client and team.
