The Opportunity

We're looking for a driven and experienced Construction Project Manager to take the lead on high-impact NYCHA rehabilitation and modernization projects across the five boroughs. This role is ideal for a boots-on-the-ground leader with deep knowledge of public agency compliance, multi-trade coordination, and a results-oriented approach to occupied and unoccupied residential work. Projects typically range from $20M to $200M and require sharp execution from preconstruction through closeout.

You'll join a reputable general contractor with a strong pipeline of public sector work, where your leadership will directly improve housing infrastructure for thousands of New Yorkers.

What You'll Do

  • Lead all phases of NYCHA and public housing construction-from procurement and scheduling to field oversight and turnover
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for NYCHA, HPD, DOB, subcontractors, and design teams
  • Manage project delivery in strict accordance with public agency standards, safety protocols, and Davis-Bacon compliance
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, submittal logs, RFIs, budgets, and change order documentation
  • Oversee site operations in partnership with field teams and superintendents; conduct regular site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety
  • Facilitate all required permits, inspections, and compliance documentation for DOB and agency sign-offs
  • Lead project meetings, coordinate with stakeholders, and generate detailed progress reports
  • Supervise and mentor APMs and assistant staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable project culture
  • Proactively identify risks and resolve field challenges to maintain schedule and budget integrity
  • Drive closeout process, ensuring all punch list items, warranties, and turnover packages are completed with precision

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience managing public-sector construction projects in NYC, preferably with NYCHA, HPD, or DASNY
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver multi-million-dollar rehab or ground-up projects in both occupied and vacant NYCHA properties
  • Strong familiarity with NYCHA workflows, Section 3 hiring goals, certified payroll, and Davis-Bacon reporting
  • Proven track record overseeing multiple trades and managing site logistics on urban, unionized projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture-or equivalent field experience
  • Proficiency with construction platforms such as Procore, MS Project, or Primavera
  • OSHA 30 certification required; Site Safety Training (SST) and scaffold certifications a plus
  • Excellent communication, organization, and conflict resolution skills
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required

What You'll Get

  • Competitive salary: $140K-$180K base + bonus potential
  • Full benefits package: Health, dental, vision
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Professional development support and opportunities for advancement
  • A mission-driven culture focused on building safer, better housing for NYC communities
