Journeyman Electrician

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of electrical systems including single and three phase motors, bus plugs, lighting, battery chargers, fans, compressors, pumps, motor controls, transformers, substation equipment, HVAC systems, PLCs, and distribution systems ranging from 120v to 480v. You will also perform preventive maintenance on building and critical system equipment such as generators, exhaust fans, air conditioning units, boilers, water heaters, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist mechanics and electricians with repairs and maintenance of plumbing, painting, welding, and snaking drains.
  • Maintain tools and order supplies as needed for installations and repairs.
  • Document equipment repairs, close work orders, and track time accurately.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Operate the Power Distribution Grid during various modes and regulate electricity flow to critical business areas and office buildings.
  • Complete site GMP requirements and maintain compliance standards.
  • Comply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Interact effectively in a team environment and foster teamwork.
  • Work independently and follow escalation policy if needed.
  • Participate actively in technical and safety training programs.

Essential Skills:

  • Possession of a State of California Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Experience beyond construction-style electrical work, including troubleshooting VFDs and building automation devices.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Word and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with troubleshooting of VFDs, building automation devices like damper actuators, valve actuators, and sensors.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oceanside, California.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $41.60/hr.
